Brought about by Warm Audio’s team of expert engineers specifically for podcasters, live streamers, and broadcasters, the 512 AUDIO Limelight dynamic vocal XLR microphone offers build quality, tone, and features that extend beyond its price class. Like all of Warm Audio’s pro audio gear, the Limelight mic is designed to produce a great sound without gratuitous tweaking after the recording.
It utilizes a large-diaphragm dynamic capsule and special circuity, tuned for optimal clarity and richness of speech. Even more directional than cardioid mics, the Limelight opts for a hypercardioid polar pattern to capture your voice with less background noise. If traffic-induced rumble or excessive bass from proximity effect need to be lessened, simply switch on the internal high-pass filter. As a passive dynamic mic, it needs no phantom power; just connect its XLR 3-pin output to a mic preamp with an XLR mic cable (available separately) and crank up the gain.
Clarity of Speech Limelight is precision-tuned to focus on the frequencies that capture the richness of voice and speech, so your audience can enjoy your talk-focused content with the clarity you’d expect from a world-class broadcast facility. Built on Legacy Designed by an expert team of engineers and built on the vintage-inspired legacy of Warm Audio, Limelight combines a large-diaphragm dynamic capsule with special circuitry to produce smooth, clear broadcast audio with a 50 Hz to 15 kHz frequency response that’s sculpted for close-range vocal duty. More Voice and Less Noise With a hyper-focused pickup pattern that’s nearly 20% narrower than a standard cardioid microphone, Limelight captures your voice while rejecting unwanted room noise around you. No Pops A built-in pop shield blocks intrusive plosives from consonants like p, b, and f, for an uncompromised sound and less audio cleanup in post. Goodbye Rumble The switchable 100 Hz low-frequency filter prevents unwanted noise and low-end rumble, for more control over your sound. Easy Setup Included with Limelight is a 360 swivel mount, which helps you achieve perfect placement on a mic stand or boom arm. UPC: 850016400659

Has the look and feel of my EV RE-20. Sounds slightly different, but similar. It’s a good sound. Great announcer mic, vocals, podcast, etc. Best value for $$$!
It’s Fine

I had high hopes for this mic but was slightly disappointed. I think the sound is really nice on voice, not overly presence boosted and the proximity effect is nice if a bit much. I love that it’s a hypercardioid, great for untreated rooms, too many mics in this category are cardioid. My big issue is the 100hz is a bit aggressive and there’s some mic noise when switching it on. I got it on a deal of the day and for that price it’s not bad, but might be better to save your money and buy something with a bit more quality. Unfortunately this mic will mostly stay in the drawer for me.
Great Sound Horrible Build Quality

Just to start this review, I’m using this mic as vocal mic for a music studio. It sounds very flat and almost plasticky out of the box, its not detailed but is smooth in a very nice way. It sounds similar to a RE20, but darker and less high end. With very little basic EQ this mic sounds almost identical to a RE20 and SM7B with less robustness. But the only falter with the mic is the build quality is terrible. Its all plastic.
Way too much self noise!

I had high hopes but after testing this alongside mass market mics from Audio Technica (that retail for about the same as this regular price) I’m sorry to say I would never choose to use this mic at any price. Got it on a lightning deal but still returning.

Solid microphone, great price

I like the sound on this microphone. There are some good YouTube reviews from when the mic itself was $200. Personally I like the tone from this mic more than many more expensive mics, though I’m not audiophile. The mic and boom are probably 5 stars for me, all things considered (especially price). I am deducting 1 star, possibly for my own idiocy. The cable is all XLR (both ends) in this bundle. This is perfect if you are running soundboards. I bought this for better sound/less ambient noise for zoom/recordings/podcasting. People smarter than I would realize that it was a XLR cable and wouldn’t plug directly into my laptop. Long story short, I had to go back and I decided to buy an adapter from for about $35 plus shipping. If you plan to use this with a laptop buy the XLR to USB cable which sells and should probably offer as a bundle.
